About Your Teacher

In a few days you will meet your new classmates as well as your teacher. I am so excited to be starting my 26th year of teaching at Hornung. I attended Hornung Elementary School when I was a kid, and early on I dreamed of being a teacher. One of my favorite things to do is travel. Last summer was spent exploring the Rocky Mountains in the beautiful state of Colorado. This summer we went to northern Michigan and enjoyed many lakes. I also spent time in my backyard swimming in the pool. I do a lot of singing and study voice with an amazing Phd student at U of M. It's my number one hobby! I attended Eastern Michigan University for both my Bachelors and Masters degrees. I love nature and am very passionate about caring for our beautiful planet and respecting the diversity of those who make up this great nation. I'm a cat person, but I also love dogs. The best moments are spent with my family and friends. One of my favorite things is being able to teach 4th grade. I always look forward to getting to know my students each year.
